About the program


ServiceAbility Training Program is an eight-week, full-time skills training and job search program for eligible residents of British Columbia who are interested in Service-sector jobs such as retail sales and supervisors, food and beverage servers, restaurant managers and office support workers. This program includes:

  • Four weeks of essential skills and job readiness training, including targeted résumé and cover letter writing, interview and job search strategies and more
  • Two weeks of workplace certificate training, such as PEAK Training and Development, Occupational First Aid, FoodSafe Level 1 and more
  • Ongoing one-on-one career coaching to meet your individual needs

Who can participate?


ServiceAbility may be right for you if you are ready, willing and able to participate in a full-time training program for eight weeks, unemployed and not eligible for EI, 18 years of age or older and legally entitled to work in Canada.

 

Customized activities


In addition to the workshops, listed below, participants will participate in customized activities based on individual needs. Sample activities include customer service skills, effective workplace behaviour, job fair success, overcoming adversity and effective time management.
